Esteemed Star Pat Finn, Recognized For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.

US entertainer Pat Finn, who featured in beloved programs such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.

The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in LA this Monday following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per reports.

"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his relatives stated in a message.

They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".

An Extensive TV Career

Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.

He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.

He starred as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a social organizer famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.

During the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of hit series, including:

  • The King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • House

Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series from 2011 to 2018.

His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Off-Screen Life

Outside of his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was part of a comedy group of six named "Beer Shark Mice".

"Finn guided, supported, and advised countless students throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.

Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared publicly.

Pat Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
